I am very sorry! i haven't posted in two weeks! College started and then my new work schedule went into place and for the past two weeks my schedule looks like this; school, then work, home at 10 or later, do homework and sleep. So sorry. Anyways, without any further ado, i give you my two week college experience:
So, the first couple of days it took me awhile to figure out where my classes were and it was pretty crazy. Tuesday was the first day of classes (Monday, was a holiday.) This meant my first class was at 9:30 at Shafer Hall. What does this mean? i get to sleep in!!! This means that when Ashley is racing out the door to catch the bus at 6:30 in the morning, i'm still in bed with a cute, fluffy, lovable, purring kitty, both sound asleep. Life is soooo sweet!!! (sorry Ash). Anyways i left the house with plenty of time to get to class (not anytime to spare) but just enough time. Now, let me clue you all in on where this particular building is on campus. It just happens to be the furthest class away from... civilization! Now there is parking near that building but i went past it because there was no sign saying who could park there so i got nervous and went all the way to the parking garage. Now, unless you get to campus at 7 in the morning, you're really not going to find a good parking spot. Guess where i had to park? On the fourth floor of the parking garage!!! And by the way, it was a mad house. It's like that commercial, where all the different vehicles are playing musical parking spots and when the music stops you go racing to a spot. Well, i just made it into a spot before someone else grabbed it. There were like five cars behind me that had to fight for the other spots! So, it's about 9:15 by the time i start walking towards the elevators and in case you are all wondering it takes about 15-20 minutes to get to shafer. My class was at 9:30! You do the math! So, by the time i got into Shafer, all out of breath, my back aching from my overstuffed 24 bag, it was late! I still had to find my class. According to my schedule it was in the auditorium. It so happened to be the first place as you walk in. However, when i tried to open the door, it wasn't opening! I freaked. So, i walked around for a good five minutes asking a person or to where my class could possibly be. When a girl finally tried to help me find a side door, a kid came rushing into Shafer, went to the auditorium door, opened it and went inside. Running after him, i grabbed the door and went in. Can you believe it? I didn't tug hard enough to open it! Ugh! So, the other kid and i were pretty late and the rest of the class was sitting on the stage in a nice circle all staring at us as we walked down the aisle, up the stairs and grabbed seats to join the circle.
(Ok, so pause on the story for a second. When i signed up for this class i was very excited but nervous too. My thoughts on this class was that the first day the professor would take attendance, pass out the syllabus then do an exercise to get us all acquainted with each other and to show him what we could do. Mind you, this is something i didn't want to have to do. I love acting but being put on the spot in front of strangers scares the crap out of me. )
Now back to the story... As i sat down, my heart was beating very fast and my mind was debating with the rest of my body whether to run for it and never look back, i stayed frozen and glued to my chair. Wow, was i wrong about this class. It is a fairly laid back class. The professor is nice and our work load goes something like this; we are required to go see plays, concerts, dance performances and other performances, then discuss them in class and then write about them. That's all! It is so cool! The people in my class are very nice and cool too! So, besides being incredibly late to my first class it was a very exciting first college class ever!!!
The rest of the day went ok, i wasn't late to my classes but i did go up and down floors and went past my classrooms a couple times before actually finding them! lol! Needless to say, i got plenty of exercise my first day!
Well, my other classes are ok. My math class is fast-paced and my professor is Russian. Kind of cool except you can't really understand her that well. I think she knows that because she talks very loud, wait no! sorry, i mean she screams, thinking that this will help us understand her better! Did i mention math is my worst subject? My intro to mass comm. class is cool, the teacher is very funny and witty. My intro to french culture teacher is french so it is hard to understand her at times too! My western civ. class is your tradional lecture class (and i have this class on tues. and wed. at 4-5:15! ahhhh!) and the sand man tries to visit me during this class! Not good!
So, college is pretty cool so far, i mean i usually have anywhere between an hour to three hours between classes but i usually eat at the student center, do my homework or meet up with my new friends. Actually, my first day in my math class i met this girl from china. I can't pronounce her Chinese name but her American name is Cynthia. When our teacher let us out of class Cynthia turned to put her stuff away and caught my eye. I smiled politely at her and she smiled back at me. Next thing i knew, she asked me if we could be study partners because she didn't know anyone in the class. i said yes and we have been hanging out ever since. I also met another girl who i met through Cynthia, named Eliza! And guess what? she loves all the same movies i do and her favorite show is 24! how cool is that? Awesome! So, between classes, work and meeting new friends i have been extra busy, busy like a bee. So please don't hate me for keeping you all in suspense!

LA!!! I'm so glad you made it through that first terrifying day. It's a doozy isn't it? hehehe but you've already made 2 friends! I think that just might be a record *hold please while I thumb through the guiness book* YEP, it's a new world record *G* the prof that screams sounds vaguely familiar...I'm pretty sure it's a requirement of all colleges to have at least 2 you can't understand due to accents one that screams and one with wickedly bad breath(let me know when you find that one LOL)
Good luck at Shafer Hall. If there's anything in a name, it should be a terrific place to spend a few months or years.
