I am proud to say that i am a safe driver. Not a perfect driver, but a safe one. I go at least five miles over the speed limit so i don't get my butt run over but not as slow as the speed limit. i don't try to beat someone in a merging lane when i have the yield sign on my side; i don't go like hell thru a yellow or pink traffic light and i try not to have tunnel vision while driving. However, this doesn't mean that nothing can happen, it just means i might live longer!!! Or have my car a little longer!
So, this is my story...Monday morning i was entering campus and heading towards the parking garage. Now, most days i park in the parking garage because it's less of a walk then if i park in one of the commuter spots on the side of the road. The parking garage can be a very dangerous place though. As i make my way up the ramp to the second floor i always watch out for backing up cars or careless people or speeding cars trying to exit. When i get to the end of this ramp and am about to merge into the one way, around in-a-circle-we go part of the second floor, i look to the left to make sure a car isn't whipping around the corner. Almost making a complete stop, i check, listen, then proceed. Well, i was doing exactly this on the third floor of the parking garage when i heard a car coming. All of a sudden he whips around the corner so fast and at such a wide angle that all i can do is watch him with my face like "a deer caught in the headlights" as his front end and bright headlights are coming straight at me! He jams on the breaks, beeps his horn (probably because it was a weird reaction) and is able to stop before slamming into me. As i look from the front end of his car to the guy in the drivers side i see him making gestures and his mouth saying "sorry" over and over again. As i mouth back "Ok? ok!" i look again to make sure no one else is coming and then i proceed to find me a parking space. Man! If he would have hit me, he would have hit me dead on! (no pun intended). It would have made a big dent in his nice shiny car! So yeah people...that's my scary new experience in college. Some kids are really asking for it let me tell you.
(note to self; try not to get myself killed in eastern's parking garage! That would be embarrassing and oh yeah, unfortunate!)

I would however like to get one of those "pink" traffic lights LOL! I think they would look pretty down here in FL *W*
